Following on the announcement by Sterling College yesterday that it will become the 3rd college in the US to divest from fossil fuels, Bill McKibben appeared on Democracy Now to talk about the divestment campaign, which has now grown to include more than 230 campuses in under four months.

“I think it’s no surprise really that young people are starting to say we got to spend another 60, 70 years on this planet, we better do something fast,” Bill says. “And that something means standing up to the fossil fuel industry that’s been in the way of rational change for a quarter century now.”

Bill also talks about the upcoming Keystone XL protest in Washington DC on February 17th.
