2017 Wrap-Up

What a year. 2017 has brought devastating climate impacts and political turmoil across the globe. But we’re also seeing the rise of a movement for climate justice, fighting for the transformative change we need.

Here’s some of our highlights from 2017, as well as some things to look forward to next year…

2018: the year of local action

Here’s a few things to look forward to in 2018:

  1. The exciting reboot of the Fossil Free movement – throughout the year we’ll be rolling out  new tools and resources to support local organising, and joining the dots between campaigns to build a new vision for a Fossil Free world.
  2. The fight against fracking continues – as the industry struggles to push forward, resistance from local communities is growing and calling more and more people to the frontlines.
  3. Divestment presses forward – 2017 has seen some transformative divestment wins and the expansion of the campaign globally. With the ‘weather’ around fossil fuel investments changing, more and more universities, local councils, MPs and other organisation are coming under pressure and getting ready to make the leap.
