致台新金控公開信

 

台新金控於2022年3月23日舉辦｢台新三十周年記者會｣，啟動淨零計畫從四大面向實踐｢綠色生活｣。並於新聞稿中提到將從今年(2022)開始持續精進責任投融資，協助低碳運具、循環經濟和再生能源等產業的發展，並承諾不承作新燃煤發電廠專案融資與採煤礦場融資，同時，台新針對內部公務車輛，也承諾不購買、租賃純燃油公務車。未來台新持續落實「綠色生活」，並以永續發展目標進行努力，創造共好未來。從企業自身做起，號召員工與客戶從日常食衣住行轉變，為永續盡一份責任。

 

350台灣很高興再次看到台灣的金融單位加入國際氣候行動趨勢，實際貫徹ESG理念來面對氣候變遷問題，台新除了不承作新燃煤發電廠專案融資外也排除採煤礦場融資，值得讚揚。但除了新的投資專案，我們也希望台新能夠對於現有的化石燃料案場提出承諾，在約期到時不再續約，同時也可針對案廠規模與開發商做迴避，並且也列出公司無煤期程的規劃，達到完全避開全球煤產業的目標。

 

於此同時，我們也，不論是私人銀行、官股銀行或國家基金，宣示不再資助化石燃料產業，一起讓國際社會認知台灣面對氣候變遷的決心，用金融的方式，撤資汙染、投資未來！

 

Open Letter to Taishin Holdings

 

Taishin Financial Holding held the “Taishin 30th Anniversary Press Conference” on March 23, 2022, and launched the Net Zero Program to practice “Green life” from four aspects. It also mentioned in the press release that it will continue to improve responsible investment and financing from this year (2022) to assist the development of industries such as low-carbon transportation, circular economy, and renewable energy. It promised not to undertake the financing and procurement of new coal-fired power plants. At the same time, Taishin also promised not to purchase or lease pure fuel vehicles for internal vehicles. In the future, Taishin will continue to implement “Green Life” and strive for sustainable development goals to create a better future. Starting from the enterprise itself, we call on employees and customers to change from daily food, clothing, housing, and transportation to fulfill their responsibilities for sustainability.

 

350 Taiwan is very pleased to see a new Taiwan financial institutions join the international climate action trend again and practically implement ESG concepts to face climate change issues. In addition to not undertaking project financing for new coal-fired power plants, Taishin also excludes coal mining farm financing, which is commendable. . However, in addition to new investment projects, we also hope that Taishin can make a commitment to the existing fossil fuel projects and not renew the contract when the contract expires. At the same time, it can avoid the scale of the project and the developer, and also list the company. The planning of the coal-free period achieves the goal of completely avoiding the global coal industry.

 

In the meantime, we also call on more Taiwanese financial institutions to keep pace with the global climate action trend, whether private banks, state-owned banks, or state funds, declare that they will no longer subsidize the fossil fuel industry, and let the international community recognize that Taiwan is facing climate change. Determined to use financial methods to withdraw from pollution and invest in the future!
