AUGUST 14 LIVESTREAM: New Yorkers web-press conference calls on Gov. Cuomo to Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice

LIVESTREAM HERE

In coordination with hundreds of global events, New Yorkers urge Cuomo, all elected officials to walk the talk on climate before September 6 march and California-based Global Climate Action Summit

New York, NY — At 11am on August 14, New Yorkers will gather at the Neighborhood Preservation Center for a livestreamed panel sharing stories and plans in the lead-up to the September 6 New York Rise for Climate, Jobs, and Justice march. Speakers will highlight ongoing work, and underscore the responsibility of Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio, and all elected officials to walk the talk on bold and meaningful climate action ahead of the California-based Global Climate Action Summit.

The September 6 action will kick-off in Battery Park, followed by nearly a dozen actions across the State and around the world on September 8, demanding Cuomo move off fossil fuels toward a fossil free New York through: (1) a just transition to 100% renewables now; (2) stopping all fossil fuel infrastructure, including fracked gas projects; and (3) making corporate polluters pay.
