We’re less than two weeks away from one of the most daring mass actions the grassroots anti-coal movement has ever planned — Ende Gelände (translation: Here and no further!) will use people power from across Europe to stop the Rhineland’s giant coal diggers and #keepitintheground

So we’re hosting a live webcast this Thursday to share more information and answer any questions or concerns you may have.  Hundreds of people are expected to arrive from all over Europe for the Climate Camp (10-17 August) and the direct action itself on 15 August.  Below are things you’ll need to know if you plan to be one of them:

All of the above and more will be covered during a live webcast this Thursday at 19:00 CET (that’s 6pm BST time).  Register here for the webcast and send in any questions you still have.

What if you can’t make it to the Rhineland in person?

Hundreds of ordinary people from all over Europe will attempt to blockade the huge Kohlebagger diggers at the open cast mines and #stopdigging.  There will be a range of ways to participate, from those willing to risk arrest to a colourful, family-friendly action alongside the mine and everything in between.

But if you can’t be there in person, you can also show solidarity by supporting the action online (we’ll email with further details) and spreading the word as far as possible.

As one participant, Fania from Paris, told us: “Think of solidarity as a verb, consider solidarity as an action”.  Because although this mining is happening in the Rhineland, if we don’t stand together, it could soon be our own backyard.  Watch and share Fania’s 2 minute video by clicking below.

Please contact us know if you have any questions about Ende Gelände or if you need any support with organising group transport – for example we might be able to support with travel costs.
Otherwise, see you Thursday for the live webcast!
